The Territory Manager position will encompass the planning, directing and coordinating of overall Sales activities and strategies for specific builders' regional categories, through achieving an increasing sales position in profitable markets on a long-term basis. The Regional Sales Manager is required to maintain an active and visible role with the building products channel while managing a cost effective operation.
The Successful Candidate will:
·Maintain a high profile with the Director of Sales and senior management.
·Provide verbal and written guidance or input to the Director of Sales, the sales organization and marketing staff.
·Maintain and enhance relationships with all key Buyers, Principles and Home Builders by establishing credibility, developing trust and providing outstanding communication and customer service.
·Manage cost center operating budget and monthly forecasting for top customers.
·Direct the efforts of Manufacturer Rep Agencies in the Region.
·Call on all major dealer/installers (customers) and all major home builders on a regular basis.
·Sell-in products, promotions, programs and special events to both dealer/installers and home builders.
·Seek out and develop new dealer/installers for our product to attack underdeveloped markets.
·Work with sales team to coordinate national initiatives with dealer/installers and home builders.
·Manage profitability margins to company objectives.
·Assure adherence to company sales policies and procedures.
·Administer sales expense and actual performance against budget.
·Travel up to 75% of the time including some weekend trade shows and customer events.
QUALFICATIONS
·Minimum five years of sales experience within the building products channel.
·Excellent strategic planning and project management skills.
·Strong written and oral communications skills.
·Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
·Strong interpersonal skills; have proven ability to establish and maintain close business relations.
·Ability to persuade and influence without direct control.
·Be capable of evaluating information critically and make decisions based on data.
·A high degree of social confidence and effective presentation skills.
·Four-year degree in business or communications or equivalent experience.
·The ability to set up a dedicated space for a home-based office.
Preferred Qualifications:
