Family Dollar Sourcing Manager

Family Dollar  Sourcing Manager

Responsible for the execution of Family Dollar's Strategic Sourcing Process and involvement in planning and executing components of key strategic projects. This includes supply base consolidation/right sizing, sourcing strategies, and in-source/outsource decisions.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

"Create and manage strategic project work plans

"Interface with stakeholders and project teams on progress, barriers and new opportunities to consolidate spending; develop new insights into client issues and examine issues from different angles; effectively facilitate meetings and interactions with client teams and individuals

"Responsible for leading key strategic projects for the Procurement organization by managing project execution activities using industry best practices and managing the relationship between the Procurement organization and key business subject matter experts, the project team and other support roles.

"Develop total cost of ownership baselines for products and services

"Perform supply market research and create and analyze RFP's; structure complex problem solving approaches; draw conclusions and develop preliminary recommendations

"Develop sourcing strategies and execute supplier negotiation strategies

"Negotiate procurement of goods and/or services by properly balancing considerations of price, quality, service, delivery, payment terms, and commercial situations

"Select tools and techniques to conduct analysis and develops new analytic approaches when appropriate; utilize eSourcing and auction technologies where appropriate

"Identify, develop, and manage strategic business relationships, internal and external

"Develop comprehensive industry knowledge of best practices, processes, and technology trends

"Complete contract development when necessary and facilitate review through legal department resources

"Read and understand the business impact of the terms and conditions of complex contractual agreements

"Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

Regular working hours, 40-45 hours per week, office environment

Potential Travel required to complete job tasks 10%

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   College Degree, BA/BS or equivalent experience in Business or other quantitative discipline

Experience:  3-6 years experience in strategic sourcing, procurement or supply chain.  Experience specific to indirect or construction and facilities maintenance strategic sourcing preferred.  Strong Project Management experience in multi-phase projects excellent written and verbal communication and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
