Piedmont Natural Gas  Business Development Analyst

The position will take the lead in organizing and consolidating the Company's Operations and Maintenance and Capital Budgets, which includes development of a Company Income Statement. Incumbent will also be a team member in Merger and Acquisitions and Joint Venture valuations, analysis and development; assist forecasting activities, both short and long term, which includes strategic business development designed to achieve the Company's financial goals and maximize total shareholder return. Highly visible to executive management team, this position should be considered a gateway for well educated and ambitious employees to hone their business skills and demonstrate their abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with budgeting and forecasting

Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in the use of Excel and PowerPoint

Demonstrated understanding of accounting principles

Demonstrated effective oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills

Preferred Requirements:

Experience with M&A processes and financial modeling

Experience with budget applications, e.g. Clarity 6

Ability to make non-policy decisions and sound judgment regarding financial issues

Experience with information systems

Energy/Utility company experience

Physical Requirements:

Sitting at a computer for long periods of time, good visual acuity and hearing.

Other Requirements:

Demonstrated strong organizational and decision making skills; must handle highly confidential information with discretion. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be able and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
