How to Qualify for WIA educational assistance:

START NOW – the process can take up to two months

  • Complete the FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov)
  • Pre-register and attend a WIA orientation
  • Obtain required WIA documentation
  • Select education or training program
  • Meet with WDB Intake Specialist to be assigned to your WIA Counselor
  • Enroll at UNC Charlotte, CPCC or other institution with the courses you need
  • Pay for Education or Training using the WIA voucher provided by your WIA Counselor
  • Begin training for your new career
